1.	You can’t change them if you don’t admit faults. Accept the facts, if you have been negative or inactive. This will make it easier for you to become positive!

2.	Goals give you a more positive outlook on life. Those who are bored with life and feel stuck are usually feeling depressed by those areas where there is no goal and so — no progress.

3.	Surround yourself with positive people! Our lives are shaped by the company we keep. This step is very important. Negative people will just weigh you down and ruin your goal. Let go of any friend whose behavior is holding you back from achieving your goal. It could simply be time to make new friends.

4.	Realize that it is really all in our mind! What goes on in your mind can really determine your actions and decides whether you’re positive or negative. If you always think negative thoughts, you’re always going to turn out to be a negative person. It is better to think about positive thoughts.

5.	Even if it’s a family member or close friend, do not tolerate their bad behavior. Steer clear from it so that it will not rub off on you.

6.	Optimistic quote or saying and keep it in your wallet or pocket at all times for a quick reference.

7.	Focus your imagination and efforts on becoming that new positive person. It is much easier to effect change if you just put your mind to it and change your thoughts. We can’t always control things that happen in your life, but we can, with some effort, control what we think in our minds.

8.	Create your life from within. If you want more success, focus on all the ways that you are already successful. If you want more love, focus on all the people that already care about you and the abundance of love you have to give to others. If you want to create greater health, focus on all the ways that you are healthy, and so on and so forth.

9.	Imagine that you’re already a positive person and you love your life. The only thing between you and your desire to be happy is one single fact: You are not happy because of how you think. This little known fact keeps many from reaching their goal of happiness. If you keep thinking things like “My life sucks!” than your life will seem like it really is that bad.

10.	Although this may seem a little weird, it actually makes you feel more positive and happy. You may even brighten that other person’s day with just a smile.

11.	It’s a great way to remain positive.

12.	Helping others leads to a happier outlook on your own life. You’ll feel great at the end and make you feel like a good person.

13.	Look for the benefit in every situation. There are pros and cons to most situations and you get to choose which you will focus on. If you’re thinking something that isn’t pleasant, think the opposite. If you do this long enough, it will make a huge difference. Say “I can!” more than “I can’t!”.

14.	Your activity and thoughts are positive or negative like magnets. As you avoid dealing with a problem, then it continues as is — or gets worse — your own negativity may rule the day. But, the more you think positively, then the more proactively you will act and reach goals of ways to overcome and accept your positive options — and that will bring its reward!

To offer oneself up for someone’s smiles

To take a loan from someone’s grief

To hold love for others in your heart,

This is what life is all about.

Granted, we are poor of means
Even so, we are rich at heart.
Life is, when it makes way for love
Life is, when it lights up for the spring
This we believe, though others may not
Tha…t this is what life is all about

Of hearts related only by trust
The name of love lives on because of us
That we will live on in someone’s thoughts

That we will smile, hidden in someone’s tears

Such that a flower will teach every blossoming bud..
That this is what life is all about !

I cannot change the way I am,

I never really try,

God made me different and unique,

I never ask him why.

If I appear peculiar,

There’s nothing I can do,

You must accept me as I am,

As I have accepted you.

God made a casting of each life,

Then threw the mold away,

Each child is different from the rest,

Unlike as night from day.

So often we will criticize,

The things that others do,

But, do you know, they do not think,

The same as me and you.

So God in all his wisdom,

Who knows us all by name,

He did not want us to be bored,

That’s why we are not the same.

Let’s respect the individuality and try to avoid forcing the way we like. As Respect should be of an individual not of a level and it is to be earned not commanded.

“….I want to be happy for no reason this year except that I am here and alive and I claim this moment as my own. It’s mine. Its got my name on it!

This year, I want to spend more time in nature, not on the path near my home, with its iPods, and cell phones and incessant chatter, but deep in a forest, where the earth recognizes my step, and the ground kisses my feet as I walk.

This year, I want to say no, more often, and not feel guilty, and say yes, more often, and not feel embarrassed.

I want to take the time to grieve fully this year, for those people that I have lost and mourn those things that I shall never have or be again.

I want to hear the sounds of creation and I can’t tell you what those sounds are, because I have never really heard them before. I ‘ve been too busy for that. But their music beckons to me in the stillness when I have finally given up my need to control.

I want to see, really see the sights of the universe and I can’t tell you what those sights are, because I have never really seen them before. I’ve had my eyes closed. But their vision haunts me in my dreams and gently calls forth to me in my waking hours.

I want to take the child in me out to play more this year and step in mud puddles, get my feet wet, eat cotton candy, build a snowman, talk to strangers, kiss furry dogs and chase mangy cats.

This year I want to eat my spaghetti with a fork and forget about the spoon and get my face really dirty. I want to get to know my teddy bear more this year. After all, he is really the only one who has always been there for me, in my darkest hour, comforting me and whispering sweet messages into my heart, that were more accurate than any psychic ever could be.

I want to see the world with new eyes this year, as if I have never seen it before, like an alien on an unfamiliar planet, and not take anything for granted.

This year, I want to talk less and say more. I want to taste more and eat less.

I want to write more about those things that really matter to me, with passion, the things that I know in my gut, the things that stir up my soul, and not give a damn about keywords or tags or where I rank in Google.

I want to sit with a flower this year and watch it bloom, and know what it feels like to finally surrender to life, to succumb to a purpose bigger than my own.

I want to talk to the moon and bask in the sun and gaze at the stars for hours and hours. I want to be much more silly this year, and care much less about what people think of me. I have forgotten just how much fun being silly can be.

I want to laugh, harder than I have ever laughed before. And cry less for all of the pain and suffering that I think I can’t fix, because I know that I can. Every time that I make the choice to be free, there is less suffering in the world, not a world with less pain, but less pain in the world.

I want to love more this year, not the sappy, greeting card kind of love they sell on Valentine’s day cards, but a love that surpasses all distance, time, space and differences.

This year, I want to make friends with those parts of me that I am afraid of and attempt to do those things that still scare me to death. Well, at least some of them.

I want to appreciate more and complain less, accept more and judge less, forgive more and blame less. I want to ultimately do nothing and allow everything.

This year I want to break open the windows of my life and knock down the doors, remove the shackles and stare down the illusion until it sets me free.

So you won’t find goals here or projects or timelines or objectives or plans or directions or bucket lists or targets. You’ll only find me…..”

If you will take the time to read these. I promise you’ll come away
with an enlightened perspective. .. The subjects covered affect us all on
a daily basis!
They’re written by Andy Rooney , a man who has the gift of saying so
much with so few words.

I’ve learned…. That the best classroom in the world is at the feet of
an elderly person.

I’ve learned…. That when you’re in love, it shows.

I’ve learned…. That just one person saying to me, ‘You’ve made my
day!’ makes my day.

I’ve learned…. That having a child fall asleep in your arms is one of
the most peaceful feelings in the world.

I’ve learned…. That being kind is more important than being right.

I’ve learned…. That you should never say no to a gift from a child.

I’ve learned…. That I can always pray for
someone when I don’t have
the strength to help him in some other way.

I’ve learned…. That no matter how serious your life requires you to
be, everyone needs a friend to act goofy with.

I’ve learned…. That sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and
a
heart to understand.

I’ve learned…. That simple walks with my father around the block on
summer nights when I was a child did wonders for me as an adult.

I’ve learned…. That life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it
gets to the end, the faster it goes.

I’ve learned…. That we should be glad God doesn’t give us everything
we ask for.

I’ve learned…. That money doesn’t buy class.

I’ve learned…. That it’s those small daily happenings that make life
so spectacular.

I’ve learned… That under everyone’s hard shell is someone who wants to
be appreciated and loved.

I’ve learned…. That to ignore the facts does not change the facts.

I ve learned…. That when you plan to get even with someone, you are
only letting that person continue to hurt you.

I’ve learned…. That love, not time, heals all wounds.

I’ve learned…. dat the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to
surround myself with people smarter than I am.

I’ve learned…. dat everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a
smile.

I’ve learned…. dat no one is perfect until you fall in love with
them.

I’ve learned… dat life is tough, but I’m tougher.

I’ve learned….. dat opportunities are never lost; someone will take
the ones you miss.

I’ve learned…. dat when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock
elsewhere.

I’ve learned…. dat I wish I cud have told my Mom dat I love her
one more time before she passed away.

I’ve learned…. dat one should keep his words both soft and tender,
because tomorrow he may hv to eat them.

I’ve learned…. dat a smile is an inexpensive way to improve ur
looks.

I’ve learned…. dat when ur newly
born grandchild holds your little
finger in his little fist, that you’re hooked for life.

I’ve learned…. dat everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, bt
all the happiness and grow

I’ve learned…. That everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but
all the happiness and growth occurs while you’re climbing it.

I’ve learned…. That the less time I have to work with, the more things
I get done.

1. Walking on the road, you pass so many people. Some look confident, purposeful, well-dressed and well-maintained. But the majority appears so ordinary, wear ill-fitting clothes, unfashionable footwear, have too much fat or too little, nothing remarkable about them, nothing attractive.
But yet :
Someone’s entire world turns around the strength of this frail-looking woman.
Someone’s very purpose in life hinges on this brash youngster cutting through traffic.
Someone knows only the shelter of these old arms each time their world begins to crumble.
Someone will count hours, minutes, and weep like a child when this pock-marked face alights from a long-distance train.
Someone will cave in, crack up, and never be the same again if this one person disappears from the face of the world.
There are no ordinary people.
2. “You can buy flattery, but envy must be earned.”
3. Unhappiness is the hunger to get; happiness is the hunger to give… If the individual should set out for a single day to give happiness, to make life happier, brighter and sweeter, not for himself but for others, he would find a wondrous revelation of what happiness really is. ~ William George Jordan

4. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you’ll find one at the end of your arm … As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands. One for helping yourself, the other for helping others.~ Audrey Hepburn

5.The sun was shining in my eyes,
and I could barely see
To do the necessary task
that was allotted me.
Resentment of the vivid glow,
I started to complain –
When all at once upon the air
I heard the blindman’s cane. ~Earl Musselman~
if an art could be taught of forgetting
all of which the remembrance is at once
that the mind might perform its functions
and the past might no longer encroach
upon the present. ~Samuel Johnson
15. Laughter, while it lasts, slackens and unbraces the mind, weakens the faculties and causes a kind of remissness and dissolution in all the powers of the soul; and thus it may be looked on as weakness in the composition of human nature. But if we consider the frequent reliefs we receive from it and how often it breaks the gloom which is apt to depress the mind and damp our spirits, with transient, unexpected gleams of joy, one would take care not to grow too wise for so great a pleasure of life. – Joseph Addison ….
There is only the inevitable.” Chuck Palahniuk(My Pen name )
40. here i realized something mindblowing.
Your NOTIONS about yorself will not let you develop.
Your NOTIONS about others will not let them develop.
A Human being is a field of Possibilities! Whatever has been so far Possible on this earth can be credited to the Human mind only. What do we do when we have a few perceptions and notions about ourselves??
We imprison our Being inside the invisible walls of those Perceptions which were probably a result of some event which occured in the past and which led you to CONCLUDE something about yourself, and hence you developed Notions about your self.
41. hw cool is this:
I Resign…
I am hereby officially tendering my resignation as an adult.
I have decided I would like to accept the responsibilities of an 8-year-old again.
I want to go to McDonald’s and think that it’s a four star restaurant.
I want to sail sticks across a fresh mud puddle and make ripples with rocks.
I want to think M&Ms are better than money because you can eat them.
I want to lie under a big oak tree and run a lemonade stand with my friends on a hot summer day.
I want to return to a time when life was simple.
When all you knew were colors, multiplication tables, and nursery rhymes, but that didn’t bother you, because you didn’t know what you didn’t know and you didn’t care.
All you knew was to be happy because you were blissfully unaware of all the things that should make you worried or upset.
I want to think the world is fair.
That everyone is honest and good.
I want to believe that anything is possible.
44. A Lovely Poem by Shri Rabindranath Tagore
Go not to the temple to put flowers upon the feet of God,
First fill your own house with the Fragrance of love…
Go not to the temple to light candles before the altar of God,
First remove the darkness of sin from your heart…
Go not to the temple to bow down your head in prayer,
First learn to bow in humility before your fellowmen…
Go not to the temple to pray on bended knees,
First bend down to lift someone who is down-trodden. ..
Go not to the temple to ask for forgiveness for your sins,
First forgive from your heart those who have sinned against you.
45. Christopher McCandless: I’m going to paraphrase Thoreau here… rather than love, than money, than faith, than fame, than fairness… give me truth.

46. ~True Friendship
True friendship isn’t seen with the eyes, it is felt with the heart.
When there is trust, understanding, loyalty, and sharing.
True friendship is a rare feeling, but when it is found
It has profound impact on our well-being, strength, and character.
True friendship does not need elaborate gifts
Or spectacular events in order to be valuable or valued.
To ensure long-lasting quality and satisfaction,
True friendship only needs a few key ingredients:
Undying loyalty, unmatched understanding, unsurpassed trust,
Deep and soulful secrets, and endless sharing.
These ingredients, mixed with personality and a sense of humor,
Can make a friendship last a lifetime!
This is just a thank you, my friend, for all the wonderful and colorful
Special ingredients You’ve brought to my life!

47. Too True, Too Often Too often we don’t realize
What we have until it is gone
Too often we wait too late to say
“I’m sorry – I was wrong.”
Sometimes it seems we hurt the ones
We hold dearest to our hearts
And we allow foolish things
To tear our lives apart.
Far too many times we let
Unimportant things into our minds
And then it’s usually too late
To see what made us blind.
So be sure that you let people know
How much they mean to you
Take that time to say the words
Before your time is through.
Be sure that you appreciate
Everything you’ve got
And be thankful for the little things
in life that mean a lot.
48. “Winners forget they’re in a race, they just love to run.” With Honors (1994) Simon Wilder(Joe Pesci)
If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours…If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put foundations under them. Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862, American Essayist, Poet, Naturalist)
52. The “heart” epitomises the beauty of the unsaid, the mystery of the imploring ideas burning within….
The “self” symbolises the transgression through light n darkness….
The “spirit” glorifies the serenity of the soul….
And “I” reflects the unrelented search for the incantation……called life……
53. If you are in love with the divine, then you can digest the
knowledge. Love is the appetizer — seva is the exercise — without
love and seva, knowledge becomes indigestible. So everyone list the
loving seva you have done for the world.
Marielle: If love is the appetizer, what is the main course?
Guruji: Knowledge
Daniel: What is dessert?
Sheila: What if you feel that you are not serving successfully? Guruji: You may feel that you have not done enough but you will not feel that you have not been successful. Real service is when you feel that you have not done enough.
Kai: You are not very successful! (Laughter)
Guruji: I am just full!
55. Do not be too timid and squeamish about your actions. All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better. What if they are a little course, and you may get your coat soiled or torn? What if you do fail, and get fairly rolled in the dirt once or twice. Up again, you shall never be so afraid of a tumble.
Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882, American Poet, Essayist)
56. Question:* Guruji, how can I be mature and yet child-like? What is being mature?
*Guruji:* Being mature and yet being child-like may appear to be contradictory but actually they are complementary. Maturity should not bring stiffness in you. If it brings stiffness then it does not serve the purpose. Whenever someone matures they realize they know very little! Its like from an ignorant ‘I don’t know’ to an enlightened ‘I don’t know’!!!
An angry person also can say ‘I don’t know!! (Laughter!!) And a person with real can also say, “I don’t know” !!! Like from a ugly ‘I don’t know to a beautiful ‘I don’t know’!! Life is a journey!!
57. The true secret of giving advice is, after you have honestly given it, to be perfectly indifferent whether it is taken or not and never persist in trying to set people right. Hannah Whitall Smith
58. You can’t say to the spring: “Come now and last as long as possible.” You can only say: “Come and bless me with your hope, and stay as long as you can. -Paulo Coelho
In other words, we need to take care of our internal health as well as our physical appearance, and our mental and spiritual well-being.

What a marvelous book one would write by narrating the life and adventures of a word! Undoubtedly a word has received various impressions of the events for which it was used; depending on the places it was used, a word has awakened different kinds of impressions in different people; but is it not more grand still to consider a word in its triple aspect of soul, body, and movement?”

- Balzac in Louis Lambert

Read it somewhere and i felt i should pen down something on my passion, ‘words’..’I personally believe words have extra ordinary and inexplicable power,it has way of saying things which we cant even think of, the ferocity it can generate is beyond our comprehension, the way it is said, the context on which it is used, the timing, all may lead to a different interpretation altogether, giving an altogether different import, making others misconstrue what we actually intend to say, so we must take utmost care in using it.

Words are under your control untill u speak them..
But you come under their control once u have spoken them..

Faizan: “I may be a loner in some seasons, yet I’m content with my simple origin.” That’s what I see. =)

Mansi Joshi said :

ohk. well… i dont (mean like cant) comprehend it in “one way” (i am too confused for that) still.. it can be- like the bicycle(here the protagonist) ..his journey has been stopped by rain. It started to rain..and it brought some painful memories back.maybe ..the memories never left him. he just uses “Rain” as an excuse to let them flow out of his eyes all over again. so, he is standing quietly..drenching in rain..rain drops falling on him or tear drops falling out of him. its beautiful ! its sad…lonely…but still beautiful ! peacefull !… with this beauty…comes sorrow too.a will , a sudden intense urge to change it back…like a thunder..to change whatever he wants to…it strikes him..all over again…leaves a cut. and then…flows out. there is no shelter …no support…maybe he likes it this way. maybe he doesn’t. but he is not thinking of it much now ! all he is living in at the moment -is the past. which like this rain…comes back…once in a while..to make its presence felt…that it was never “out” of him…n to engulf him…all over again now my mood has gone bad- why did u ask me to explain it..

Janani says:

wow!…am not that creative! yet…all i can see is a simple meaning, i am all alone….scared and vulnerable,i had run as far as i can…but couldn’t anymore,i almost give up…but there comes a ray of light…. help is on its way….hope is still left in the world…. now i believe that i will survive,i will feel safe again…

Amanpreet says:

Theres so much I have to know. So much I have to discover that it
overwhelms me sometimes. I wonder if Ill be able to do the task as
humongous as the one that lies in front of me? I feel like giving up but I
know that I should try. I know that I should keep on walking steadily.
That people might have a different sets of benefits that I crave but
in REALITY its just that they are living with different experiences
and facing a different sort of struggles. Everyone has a different sets
of blessings and different set of blessings they have to struggle to
earn.

Sometimes I want someone to reassure me that Im on the right path
and its in my hand to reach the destination. That I have the power to
reach there.

Whatever weather may be on the path Im on and whether I have someone
to fall back on or not, I should be resolute enough to keep on
walking. Ill find support if Im good enough. I wont focus on help if
Im good enough. Ill focus on solutions rather than problems if my
attitude is right.

I have come this far, I should keep on moving. If I give up hope, I
lose. If I don’t, theres still hope at least. And a sense of
satisfaction that I didnt give up. Keep struggling to win the right to
convert your dreams into reality. Not many people are able to do it coz
doubt comes in their way. Self doubt eats up the souls of men and reduces
them as a pale shadows of what they could have been. So come rain or
come shine, do what you got to do. What you ought to do.

Being apart from you isn’t easy…

I find myself missing you so often,in so many ways…

but even though we can’t be together right now…

Gentle thoughts of you fill my days and dreams of you fill my nights…

No matter what I’m doing,

I know it would be so much nice if I could be sharing it with you…

I keep imagining things you’d say if you were with me now,

or the way you would laugh if something funny happened,

and next thing I know,

‘m daydreaming about all the things we’ll do when we’re together again…

Although the miles come between us now,

I still feel so close to you,

and I just keep hoping the days will fly by because I want you beside me

to talk to,

to hold,

to love.

to keep from the hurts

and pains……..

Nights, as i call it “the best time of the day”, has always fascinated me. The wintry nights in particular, lures me to stay awake all night long. The dark star studded sky fallin on us, the moon inviting us to come over and dine amongst the stars. The soothing cold wind giving us goosebumbs, a chill down our spine The silence of the night is so relieving, so enthralling yet so enigmatic. The other day i went to my terrace listening, humming to my favorite number (pehla nasha), gazing the sky, as if asking something, searching something over there. The wide spread of the same made me feel so timid as if the vast expanse of knowledge is yet to be revealed. The inherent mysticsm in the sky made me feel it’s playing games with us and smiling at us almost sneeringly on our ignorance.I was barefoot, the cold dew made my feet wet and it was just wow. The refreshing air i inhaled made me feel like i am emptying myself to something. Every breath was so refreshing and had so much to say. I almost involutarily closed my eyes, surrendering myself to it, allowed the soothing air to sashay me at its will as if i am a mere puppet. It is mysterious, captivating and inviting. We get answers for the questions we would never be able to frame. The sky stays there like always, so does the moon and the stars, still everyday there is a new story to be told, to be unfolded. Just like when we look at a piece of a painting. We come out with our own interpretation of the inherent meaning behind it, same with the night. there is wisdom in there, beyond our comprehension. It is always a novel feeling..

ahhh…that reminds me of a quote..”,If a lover is like a moon. friends are like stars, have you ever noticed that night can look beautiful without moon but never without stars.”
However somebody rightly contradicted, almost rhetorically and ironically,”but then even all stars taken together cannot shine as bright as a single moon.!?!”

Some people smitten by superstition harbours negative notions associated with nights, but i would rather glaringly contradict it and say “God gave us night we called it darkness”…
Okk so the whole point of this rather prosy introduction is that, my new found romance with wintery nights has tickled the dormant poet (a poet from nowhere and without rhyme and reason) in me once again..
